|The Historical Documentation and Study of the Pema Lingpa Tradition is a project to study the religious and cultural traditions which ensued from the Bhutanese religious master Pema Linga (1450-1521). As the most eminent spiritual figure born in the region which constitutes modern Bhutan, Pema Lingpa is today celebrated as a cultural hero and spiritual father of the country. He was a religious visionary, an artist, a terton or discoverer and prominent public figure. His teachings, works of art, religious traditions, spiritual and family lines today permeate all facets of Bhutanese state and society.|
